How did you first find out about the Greece Jazz Band?: Sherman Curry asked me to check out the 2003 holiday concert.
Why did you join the Greece Jazz Band?: I liked the more challenging musical selections they were willing to try.
What keeps you coming back every week?: My 2003 Impala. MF LIMO (see funny stories)
What do you like best about being a part of this band?: most everyone is cool; some of the charts let me scream a little.
Tell some interesting facts/stories about yourself: I play many instruments, having been in bands as a drummer, bass guitarist, rhythm guitarist, lead alto sax/clar/flute/tenor/bari/bass clar, as well as trumpet.
Any funny stories?: I got to chauffeur Maynard Ferguson back to the Sheraton Hotel in my car after his gig in Wilkes Barre PA in 2003. Of course, that was the first time I'd ever been to Wilkes Barre PA! Good thing they have a big lighted Sheraton sign on the building - what should have been a 5 minute trip stretched into about 15 minutes, but it was fun rappin' with The Boss, and he had no problem that I was lost...
What music do you like best?: Stan Kenton classics - Bill Holman (Malaga); Maynard Ferguson charts (Maria); Buddy Rich charts (Pieces Of Dreams) Favorite Musicians: Bill Chase, Maynard Ferguson, Wayne Bergeron
Musically, I wish I could play like: Bill Chase
