Jason Martin

Trombone

Started in 2003

Musical Background: I found out I was destined to play the trombone when I couldn't make a buzz on a trumpet mouthpiece, but I could on a trombone mouthpiece. I started playing in the grade school band, then high school band, eventually joining the jazz band, because I learned I could swing. I also got to play in the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra and University of Buffalo Trombone Choir before leaving for lovely Rochester for college. At the University of Rochester I played in the River Campus Jazz Ensmble and Stingers Trombone Choir. After graduating, I took a 2 year hiatus from playing until I found the Greece Jazz Band and decided it was time to get out of my funk and play again.
