Musical Background: Bob began playing the trumpet 15 years ago in elementary school. He immediately took to it and participated in various ensembles through high school. He went on to pursue a Music Education Degree from Penn State University. Now in his third year of teaching, he tries to keep his "chops" up by playing in the Greece Jazz Ensemble and performing church music for weddings and masses.

Favorite musicians: Clifford Brown. His phrasing is first rate. Some others include Charlie Parker, Oscar Peterson, John Coltrane, and Harry "sweets" Edison

Favorite Music: Jazz, favorite jazz tune is "Shiny Stockings" by Count Basie

Wishes he could play like: Clifford Brown

Family: Married Lisa on July 8, 2000. They met in college as both pursued music education degrees. They often play together for church services and weddings.

Schools: Roy C. Ketcham High School, Wappingers Falls, NY; Penn State University, University Park PA

Vocation: 4th -6th grade band director at Byron-Bergen Central Schools

Hobbies/Interests: Aside from playing trumpet, Bob enjoys golf, mountain biking, and going to movies

Why the Greece Jazz Band?: Bob heard them play at the Greece Summer Festival in 2001. He joined because he missed playing in a jazz ensemble He really enjoys the rehearsals.

Interesting Facts/Stories: My family calls me "The Minute Man". I always work right up to the deadline for projects, work with my lesson groups until the last second of the school period, etc.
