Education: Grew up and went to school in Brockport
Profession: I work as an office manager with my husband who is a Dentist in Brighton
Musical Background: I have played the trumpet since 4th grade. Graduated High School in 1979. I was in All County, All State and Conference All State bands during high school.Since then I have taken lessons with Sue Brown at the Eastman, Ross Miller at Nazareth, Dr. Jim Ode at Ithaca and 1 1/2 years ago took some lessons with Herb Smith from the RPO. Have been playing by myself with my CD's minus one and have performed 1 man shows for nursing homes and senior homes. I have also done weddings, funerals and performed in church.
Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies are my kids! They keep me very busy. But as they get older I now am finding time to start doing things I enjoy, such as my trumpet!
How did you find out about the Greece Jazz Band?: I found out about the jazz band through an article in the Free Time. They were looking for trumpets and it was fate after that!
Why the Greece Jazz Band?: I came on a Monday night not knowing what to expect, and very nervous. When I arrived, I was very welcomed. I was tired of playing alone, and wanted an opportunity to play with a big band. The rest is history. I enjoy coming every Monday for the camaraderie and the music this band makes. The band is serious about their music but also has a funny sense of humor. They know when Chuck means business! You can tell they care about each other. I guess if their was a song to describe where I am in my life now, it would be "This is the Moment" from the play Jekyll&Hyde.
Favorite Music: I enjoy Big Band music from the 40's and 50's era. I have always thought I was born at the wrong time.
Favorite Musician: My favorite musician would have to be Al Vizutti. He is definitely my idol! I would love to play like him, and maybe someday take a lesson from him! I can dream!
